Throughout April and May 2027, The Cellar Door is taking off on The New World Flight: a 4-part journey celebrating bold flavors, high altitudes, and world-class winemaking across South Africa, North America, South America, Oceania, and Asia.

Your In-Flight Itinerary

  • Stop 1: South Africa – "Straight From the Cape"

    • Date: Saturday, April 10th | 19:30

    • No filler, just bold, world-class pours delivered straight from the Cape. Join us as we showcase the vibrant, uncensored best of South African winemaking—from time-served master producers to exciting young up-and-comers.

  • Stop 2: North America – "The Great American Road Trip"

    • Date: Saturday, April 24th | 19:30

    • From Baja to British Columbia and everything in between, we are celebrating North America. Hop along for an epic tasting journey across iconic coastal valleys, desert terroirs, and hidden northern gems.

  • Stop 3: South America – "The Great American Road Trip (Pt. 2): South of the Equator"

    • Date: Saturday, May 8th | 19:30

    • Keep the engine running—we're driving straight past the equator for Part 2 of our Pan-American wine journey! Buckle up for a high-altitude tasting across the Andes, pouring bold Malbecs, vibrant Carmenères, and hidden gems from Argentina, Chile, Peru, and beyond.

  • Stop 4: Oceania & Asia – "The Good, The Bold and The New World"

    • Date: Saturday, May 22nd | 19:30

    • Our New World grand finale! Conclude the flight with a grand finale tasting through the world-famous expressions and rising stars of Australia, New Zealand, India, and Japan.

Event Details

  • Venue: The Cellar Door, 66 High Street, Wivenhoe, CO7 9AZ

  • Timing: 19:30 departure (tastings last approx. 2–3 hours)

  • Ticket Collection: Under the order notes at check out please include the name of the person receiving the gift, the Boarding Pass will be prepared and printed and we will text you when it is ready to collect. If you need delivery please include this in the order notes.

PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE BOOKING:

  1. Group Bookings: To ensure your party is seated together, please book all tickets in a single transaction. If guests book individually, we cannot guarantee you will be seated at the same table.

  2. Seating & Venue Layout: The Cellar Door is a small, intimate venue. While we do our best to ensure everyone is comfortable, please be aware that we are all in close quarters. Our tastings are designed to be relaxed and social, utilizing high "poser" tables.

  3. Dietary Requirements: All food pairings are prepared in advance; therefore, we cannot accommodate substitutions or alterations on the night of the event. Please notify us of any allergies or dietary requirements via the order notes at checkout (Special Instructions in the Cart), or by contacting us directly at least one week prior to the event.

  4. Accessibility: The Cellar Door is a historic building with four steps at the main entrance, and our guest bathroom is located on the first floor (accessible only via stairs). If you or anyone in your party has restricted mobility, please contact us before booking to ensure the venue will be accessible and comfortable for you.

  5. Age Policy: All attendees must be 18 years of age or older. We operate a Challenge 25 policy, so please bring a valid photo ID. Refunds will not be issued if a guest is turned away due to a lack of valid identification.
  6. Cancellations & Refunds: Tickets are non-refundable. However, if you can no longer make it, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend—just notify us of the name change before the event. In the rare event that we must cancel the tasting, a full refund or rescheduling option will be provided.
  7. Behaviour & Intoxication: We reserve the right to refuse entry or service to any guest who appears overly intoxicated or behaves disruptively, without the right to a refund. Please drink responsibly.
  8. Punctuality: Doors open at 7:30 sharp, guests are checked in and the tasting starts almost straight away so to avoid missing any of our tasters we ask you arrive promptly at 7:30. Late arrivals may miss out on tasters, no refunds or reductions are given for late arrivals.
